the process

Calling this post 'the process' is perhaps the biggest understatment in the world. Turning my hair lilac (last picture) from a rather dark shade of brown (second picture) was the longest, most difficult, stress inducing, sleep preventing diy project I've ever attempted. It took multiple rounds of bleach (Three? Four? I've blocked it from my memory I think) and as you can see the bleach lifted my colour unevenly and also made me look like an egg yolk (thank you Maddie for coining that phrase). At that point I just wanted my hair to be purple so I dyed it without re-bleaching those pesky brown areas. Bad idea that resulted in the uneven-ness as that is picture four. Neon purple underneath, bright purple on top. Eek. Needless to say I eventually went back and bleached the top layer one last time and now it's somewhat perfect. Also, I would just like everyone to know that I had a date the day of picture 4 and totally went with that neon purple hair. I'm a true man repeller, thank you very much.
